What Is SmartDraw Legal 2009?

SmartDraw Legal 2009 is a graphics software package
that makes it easy for anyone to create professional-quality legal graphics
such as Crimescene Layout, org charts, Gantt charts, timelines, floor
plans and more in minutes.
This program is easy to use with a complete graphical overlay. They have
managed to get just about everything on the screen where it is easy to
get too and find.
I recently downloaded a trial copy of SmartDraw Legal 2009.
I had used an earlier version and although I thought it was good,
this new version is simply amazing.

Crime Scene Illustrations are
so easy and there is a huge library of objects including weapons,
footprints, blood stains. All these are easily dragged into the
workspace.
Timelines with many different
styles are practically automatically generated
Organization Charts can be easily
built and you can include thumbnail pictures
of the principles.
Maps world, USA, Reference,
Oceans and Seas, every type is here and easily
configurable.
Flow Charts produce from about
50 templates.
Family Trees Rich graphics in

Malpractice & Injury Templates have you ever priced
these custom made? They are seriously expensive!
The list goes on and on. There is so much content and usable
graphics. If you have ever tried to find graphics for use
in court, like blood stains, or weapons, you know how difficult
it can be. By the time you bought just the graphics you would
spend more than the cost of this entire program, which is $299. One
of the best parts is that all the graphics are Vector
Based, which means you can make them as large as
you like and they will print and look perfect |
Export
Right on top of your workspace there are little icons for Word,
PDF, PowerPoint, Excel and JPEG. To export in these formats
all you do is click the button. You need your Crime Scene
to be a slide in PowerPoint?…..1 click and your done.

SmartPanels
This is another great feature that help you make your tasks easy.
Each SmartPanel contains single-click task buttons relevant to
the diagram type being edited. SmartPanel buttons perform the
most common tasks for a drawing type—even combining multiple
steps into a single click. For example, the Flowchart SmartPanel
has task buttons to Add Shapes, Add Text, Add Lines, Arrowheads,
Line Hops, Help and more. SmartPanels enable users of any level
of experience to complete a professional quality diagram as quickly
and easily as possible.

Creating a graphic with SmartDraw is a simple quick and ease. You
simply select a SmartTemplate to start, stamp additional symbols in
place, and then choose for the professionally-designed color styles
and design themes to polish off the drawing.
Timeline and Project Chart Data Entry
Project Charts and Timelines are now dynamically created which
means you simply fill in a box like below and the chart will
have those dates.
Calendar Builders
Just like the charts, calendars are built dynamically. Standard
sets of holidays—for example US, Canadian, UK, religious,
moon phases, and more—make it easy to create a complete
calendar in one or two clicks.

This program runs $299 and comes with
fantastic support both online and by phone. I can’t stress enough
how valuable the Symbol Library is. From Anatomy, to Dog Types, from
Accident Reconstruction to Room Layout including all the furniture
you would find. This is where the real strength of this package lies.
I can’t go into every feature of this software but if you are
serious about producing in-house presentations for use in the Courtroom
or other areas of your practice then this program is a must have. I
have reviewed and tested many other graphic programs that claim to
have good libraries but no comparison to SmartDraw Legal.
